From brizzle to swizzle

Hey all

Well were back on the road again after a action packed social 2 weeks in sunny bristol, We had 2 weddings and lots of friends and family to visit. Many thanks to everyone for being so generous and welcoming, especialy my parents for letting us stay and take over the house with our mess for the whole time. Well done to Stu and Tash Clark and to Gus and Jen Crombie you all looked amazing on your days,

Highly amusing is that just before london we stopped to stretch and toilet in services when we pulled away we heard a rattling noise the tip of the exhaust had fallen off and was dragging down the road!!! a great start

After a epicly long nights driving we left brisotl at 7pm got the ferry at midnight then drove all night and arrived at 10.30pm feeling pretty special. but its all worth it. magic wood is so amazing truly magical, It is situated at 1300m in a high narrow valley flanked with 300m granit cliffs. The boulders are strewn about in the old pine forrest at there base. After crossing the most inviting looking aqua blue river tumbing between the rocks you enter the forrest with is picture perfect deep green moss covers everthing the ground is springy under foot with little trails heading off in all directions to different boulders.

The bouldering itself is brilliant with loads of intersting shapes and features most of which have hard to figure out trick sequences of body positions which make them possible. Where all the blocks are jumbled in a mess there are huge holes everywhere waiting to envelope you and your missplaced foot. they also have a use as they blow our jets of supe cold air so most of the boulders have a continuous stream of ice cold air flowing our from there base its really weird you can walk along in the sun and be hot then get to the base of a boulder and inthe space of 1 metre got from hot to super cold air like walking into a fridge.

We have met our friends Shane and Shel and the with them have Tala with whome we are now reunited Thanks so much for looking after her guys your stars. She has settled strait back into life in the van and is as loveley and faithfull as ever having enjoyed her time in ceuse and champonix with her irish friends. Congratulations also go to Omar from sunny bristol who sent his first 7c a few days ago in the form of "jack the Chipper" nice one.

As for rest days well theres loads to do jumping in the lovely inviting river soon becomes an experiance as its clearly glacier run off and bloody freezing, but so nice looking you have to jump in it, The camp site here is basic but nice loads of people from all over europe and further. its pretty chilled durin the week but at weekends it gets invaded by heards of germans popping over the boarder for a weekend in the wood.

Well this was suposed to get put up a few days ago after we took some photos but we were involved in a rescue as a friend got hit by a large piece of rock that someone pulled off a boulder it hit the floor then whacked him in the back. We saw it so helped then quickly the higly efficiant swiss paramedics turned up in the middle of the woods and got a heart monitor, a drip, oxygen and blood presure machine all hooked up and looked like he was already in a hospital then a helicopter turned up and dropped a spine board through a clearing in the trees and he got whinched up and taken away. hence very few photos got taken that day and i kinda forgot about this :). We have also popped into hospital with a few others he is doing well he has a broken S2 vertibrae in his back but has no bad effects from it. was quite lucky really as he wanted to walk back to the camp site and we convinced him to lye down and not to move.

We are currently recovering after a small food shop and realising quite how expensive switzerland is 2.80 for a loaf!!!

Anywho il leave you to the few below i promis more photos to come soon :)
