Project sent

Hey all

I just sent my project for my first 7c+

Had another 3 goes on monday which all ended in a fall from the last hard move the same as before, one of these came agonisingly close when i caught the last hold then my feet both came off and i couldnt hold it and fell, i knew then that i could do it, but also that i needed to step back and have a few days climbing other things.

Today i was going to have a onsighting day but managed to pull a lump of rock off a route the size of 5 bricks and it shook me up a bit so wasnt feeling super good for the onsighting, so decided to have a play on Via viciosa.

I put the quick draws in and it went first time today my 9th attempt in total, was so happy it felt really controled and dare i say easy this time, so stoked, on to El delphin next another 7c+ up the underside of a huge archway, its amazing. photos to come soon.

7c+ project

Hey

I have a new project in rodellar its called "Via Viciosa" no idea what i means in english :) its a very short and bouldery 7c+ in the Boulder jon Cuava sector. it is 12 metres and consists of about 16 hand moves with a fair amount of foot moves aswell.

I have had 4 days where i have tried it so far, the first was a quick play to see how it was i decided it was a good clmb to try. second day i figured out all the moves and felt happy that it would go once it have the sequences memorised, After this day i felt so achey for a few days think that i must have been working really hard, The crux on this particular climb is near the top and is about 7 moves that are really hard.

3rd day i tried to climb it, first go i came off at the middle of the crux as i wasnt warmed up correctly, the second and third try i get agonisingly close falling on the last hard move before the finnishing jug, a quick ajustment of my feet and i have a better sequence for the moves, im also knacked and feel super drained, decide to come back the next day

Day 4 i pull onto the rock and go for it decide to climb super quick and not chalk just go for it, it goes well im climbing smoothly and fast. then i fumble the crux clip and waist loads of time getting the rope clipped a few more moves and im off, 2nd go today i pull on and the easy moves at the start feel really hard, i get to the crux and feel my body tension faiding away. i slap wildly at a hold and then im off hanging in space, this climb really takes it out of you, i decide to come back after a rest day and try again, today is that rest day so i will keep you posted,

Photo update

Hey all

Finaly got round to taking the camera into the valley to get some shots, decided i would bring the zoom lense and stalk out hte vultures. There are mahoosive vultures and eagles here with wingpans of over 3 metres, they are always circling over head when your climbing. i spend 40 minutes waiting in the sun and see 0 vultures, dejected i move on to the valley looking back yup theres about 7 circling where i was sat dam them dam them.

Heres a few shots of the valley and of david climbing at Egocentrismo. i found him on my wanders such an inspiring cliff

Tala latest update

Hey all we have bews on tala we went to the vets last week to get the results of her blood test and she has lieshamania which is a desease that infects her white blood cells and attacks her immune system which is why she had been having other issues like the mange and skin problems. So we have a course of injections that we have to give her every other day for 40 days!!! then this will clear it up for her.

She is looking loads healthyer already and we have only been giving her 6 injections. All her hair is looking a lot shineyer and her bald spots have grown hair again!!! it is weird giving her injections something new i have never done,

One side affect is that she can get upset stomachs from the treatment so we have been treated to her grazing and eating more grass than a sheep then throwing it back up. I shouldnt laugh but its so funny to see her looking sorry for herself as she munches grass :)

When is a dog like a sheep?

Rodellar baby

Hey all

We have relocated last week and we are currently in Rodellar land of super steep and long routes. Its all situated in a beautifull tranquile valley below an old village, The first impressions when you walk down into the valley is "Wow" its so nice. green meddows either side of a crystal clear blue river that winds its way down the middle then the most amazing rock formations and tall deep caves everywhere. breath taking,

I only took a few photos on my naffy camera below more good ones will be up after our next rest day when we can put some hopefully stunning ones up,

Que passa

Well a few days since our last update, a fair bits been happening, the main thing is its getting HHHOOOOOTTTTT most days here for the last week have been low 20's and from friday onwards were looking at high twenties, so we have moved on from siurana to margalef as thers so much more to climb in the shade + its much mroe skin friendly with less sharp holds so can climb more when hot.
